Powers: Sand Sand Fruit, ability to transform his body into pure sand; ability to remove moisture from anything he touches with his right hand.

Posing as the "Hero of Alabasta" by protecting the nation from attacks as one of the Seven Warlords, Crocodile was secretly heading an underground cabal through the criminal organization known as Baroque Works, and staged a coup against King Nefeltari Kobra. Crocodile planned to use the Civil War to take over the Kingdom and establish a powerful military nation to discover the mythical ancient weapon, Pluton, in order to rule the world.

His plans were stopped when Princess Nefeltari Vivi formed an alliance with the Straw Hat pirates and returned to Alabasta in order to expose him and prevent the war. He met his defeat at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy, who discovered that his lone weakness was water, which rendered the seemingly invincible Crocodile unable to transform into sand when wet. After his defeat and his plans exposed he was arrested and stripped of his title of Warlord.
